For over 30 years the Spirit Of Adventure has been considered by many to be one of the finest sport fishing vessels in Southern California. She is 88 feet long and 25 feet wide and provides excellent stability. Her range encompasses 2,500 nautical miles on self-sustained voyages of up to 16 days. The Spirit Of Adventure is S.O.L.A.S. rated to travel anywhere in the world. Her schedule includes not only the Pacific region of the Baja Peninsula, but the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez) as well. On board, state-of-the-art safety, navigation and satellite communication equipment ensure safe, comfortable and convenient ocean travel.
Accommodations are provided with 14 air-conditioned private staterooms with storage space, wall to wall carpet, and reading lights. Most staterooms have upper and lower bunk beds with fresh clean linens. Four heads with toilets and three freshwater showers are located on the main deck. A very spacious salon provides room for 28 people and serves everyone in one seating. Accommodations also include a full-service galley, snack bar, modern television, dvd player, library and large exterior deck areas including an upper sun deck.
One of the top priorities on the Spirit Of Adventure is ensuring the highest possible quality of your catch. The Spirit is equipped with high-capacity refrigeration systems that provide for either a RSW (Refrigerated Sea Water) or frozen product upon return. Thorough treatment and care for your fish is taken starting from the gaff all the way back to the dock.

After 33 years of owning and operating the Spirit of Adventure, Mike Keating proudly announced in Spring 2021 the new owner and operator, Captain Evan Kraft. Evan Kraft has been mentored by Captain Mike Keating and Captain Brian Evans for the last decade while working on the Spirit of Adventure and has been passed down the knowledge and skills that can only be acquired from a lifetime experience on the water. Evan Kraft is excited to carry on the SPIRIT tradition with passion and enthusiasm.
Also operating the Spirit Of Adventure now for over 30 years is Captain Brian Evans. Both of their experience, intuition and natural ability to find fish is second to none. They are among the hardest working captains in the business and will tirelessly work to “put you on the fish”. Not only are Captain Brian and Captain Evan extremely adept at locating fish but they are also friendly, helpful and truly dedicated to giving you the best possible trip.
On deck there are always four experienced deckhands ready to help you in any way possible whether you are a first-timer or an experienced angler. There are always two chefs on board of every trip aiming to make you some of the finest “Homemade”, fresh meals that you will ever experience. The portions are generous and they will always make sure everyone eats good!

The Spirit Of Adventure boasts one of the most spacious salon areas in the fleet. It seats up to 28 passengers and can accommodate everyone during meal servings. The salon includes a modern TV with DVD player, a breakfast bar/snack bar stocked with fresh fruit and snacks throughout the day, a selection of hot/cold beverages, a reverse osmosis-purified water fountain and an ice machine.
There are always two experienced chefs on board who pride themselves on providing some of the finest food around. All of our meals are made fresh daily with high quality ingredients, often including a fresh catch of the day. A variety of cuisine is offered in large portions to keep you well fed whenever you’re not at the rail fishing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served everyday and snacks are available all day long.
